Bond raised in Plymouth homicide case

More charges pending for Waterbury brothers

Bristol, Conn. (WTNH) - A judge decided to raise the bond of two brothers from Waterbury who are facing charges in connection to a Plymouth homicide.

Michael Guerrera, 20, had his bond raised to $1 million. Dennis Guerrera, 21, had his bond raised to $2 million.

Right now, they're being held on assault and unlawful restraint charges in the death of 19-year old Dylan Sherman of Bristol.

Sherman's body was found by a hiker near Buttermilk Falls in Plymouth on Wednesday. The medical examiner ruled his death of homicide and say he died from blunt force trauma.

The judge says he increased the Guerrera brothers' bond because they are facing additional charges in the case.

When the Guerrera brothers entered a Bristol court room for their arraignment, friends and family of Sherman say it was difficult to control their emotions.

"They were also, supposedly, his friends. They knew him longer than I knew him. He hung around them a lot. He talked about Dennis, a lot," says Anthony Santana, victim's friend.

Michael Guerrera has what the state says is a violent past. Rumors are swirling about what led to Sherman's death, but with affidavit sealed, the true story is yet to be officially told.

"They're in custody, that's all that matters. I'm just glad they got 'em, and get whoever else is involved,"says Lorry Brown, victim's close friend.
