PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A teenager was issued a summons for breach of peace after being spotted with a pellet gun at a bus stop in Plainfield Tuesday.
Just before 8 a.m., Plainfield Police received a call from a concerned citizen reporting that a child was in possession of what he believed to be a long pellet or bb gun while waiting for his bus in the Mossup section of Plainfield.
After being confronted by the concerned citizen, the child ran and appeared to have discarded the gun.
Police said prior to their arrival, the 13-year-old got onto the school bus to the Plainfield Central School. Police were able to locate the long rifle pellet gun at the child's home.
The pellet gun was not brought onto the bus, or into any Plainfield schools, and was not used to threaten anyone.
As a result of the incident, the child was taken into custody and issued a juvenile summons for second-degree breach of peace.
