NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police in New Haven have secured an arrest warrant for a juvenile in connection with a fatal crash that took the life of a 14-year-old last year.

The incident occurred on January 15, 2011, in the area of 384 Front Street.

The accident took the life of 14-year-old Kyshant Moore Jr.

According to witnesses, it is believed that the juvenile was operating a stolen mini-van when he intentionally opened the driver's door, striking Moore and fatally injuring him.

Police said the juvenile is currently being held in a detention facility on unrelated charges.
