BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Branford man was arrested after police say he robbed a local convenience store of $92.

Police say Richard Rogers, 52, walked into a convenience store on East Main Street just after 11 p.m. Sunday night and demanded money from the clerk.

Officers were on the scene within minutes and were able to find Rogers' car driving on North Main Street, by Cedar Street.

The clerk was able to positively identify him as the robber and police found $92 in cash in a plastic bag on the floor of his car.

Rogers was charged with third degree robbery, sixth degree larceny and engaging police in pursuit.

He was held on a $5,000 bond and was arraigned in New Haven court Monday morning.
