BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)-- Bridgeport police seized nearly $48,000 worth of heroin and $25,000 in cash from an owner of a barber shop on Wednesday.
After months of investigation, police concluded that Irvin Villegas, 35, was selling large quantities of heroin from his Looking Image barber shop on East Main Street and his home on Linen Street.
On Wednesday, just after 4 PM, investigators pulled over Villegas' 2005 Infiniti sport utility vehicle and found 150 glassine folds of heroin in the center console.
This led to the search of Villegas' home, where police seized 226 bundles of heroin each containing 10 glassine folds, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, $25,000 cash and bank records.
"He was a big time dealer in the area," said Captain AJ Perez, the head of the narcotics and vice unit.
Villegas is also a convicted felon with robbery and weapons convictions.
Police also arrested the passengers in the vehicle, Bengy Pagan, 32, and Karisma Dejesus, 35. All were charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school.
