Bridgeport man arrested with an assault weapon

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)-- A Bridgeport man was arrested with an assault weapon and a large amount of drugs on Thursday morning.
Police say they found a Bushmaster .223 assault rifle and a large quantity of cocaine after searching the home of Jonathan "Coco" Colon, 25, at 285 Birmingham Street.
Colon was charged with possession of narcotics WITS, possession of an assault weapon, and criminal possession of a firearm.
Police say he has also been named a suspect in a recent "shots fired" incident.
Colon is currently in federal custody.
