BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Branford police are warning residents about a recent string of burglaries.

Police say there have been several burglaries and attempted burglaries in the Windmill Road area over the past several days.

The suspect gained access into the unoccupied homes through unlocked doors or windows. Among the items taken were home electronics, laptop computers and jewelry.

Police say one possible suspect is a white man with a thin build. He was spotted around noon on Wednesday in the area of 28 Meadow Circle Road. He was wearing a dark colored tank top.

Residents are reminded to lock all doors and windows to their homes and cars, and keep all expensive electronic devices and auto accessories out of plain view.

Police ask that residents report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 203-481-4241 or 911 in an emergency.
