MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Milford man was arrested after video surveillance caught him burglarizing a home on Housatonic Drive.

The footage was used to identify the suspect as 34-year-old Michael Spangler. The homeowners reported cash and jewelry were taken from their home on June 21.

On June 29, Spangler was arrested on I-95 near the exit 40 rest area after police found him in possession of 105 prescription pills. Spangler gave officers his relative's name to avoid being connected with the burglary.

He was charged with third degree burglary, second degree larceny, interfering with police, possession of narcotics, illegal possession of a prescription drug and refusal to be fingerprinted.

Spangler was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

Police say he is a suspect in other similar incidents and further arrests are expected.
