BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Northwest Catholic School has been rocked by the news that a long-time English teacher and his wife were charged with running a marijuana growing operation in their Bloomfield home.
40-year-old Christopher Gallagher, and his wife, 44year-old Kristine Gallagher were arrested for what was found inside their home: marijuana, at least 90 plants in different stages of development. Along with other items commonly associated with marijuana growth and distribution.
Guns were also confiscated.
News 8 spoke with a representative from Northwest Catholic School in West Hartford. She says she can't say much because of the investigation, but she did tell us that Gallagher has been placed on indefinite administrative leave.
School ends Friday at Northwest, and while students will have the time off, the Gallagher's will most likely be tied up with court appearances.
Both have posted bond.
This case has apparently gotten the attention of the social media world. The hashtag "#freegallagher" has popped up, with a variety of people weighing in on the teacher's arrest.
Miss Connecticut Erin Brady is crowned the winner of the Miss USA 2013 pageant.
