West Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - Police have recovered a three-year-old child that was left in a car seat of a vehicle that was carjacked Sunday morning.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m., at a Krausers located at 911 Campbell Ave.
West Haven Police said the mother left her child inside the running vehicle while she went inside the store.
The mother then saw her vehicle reversing with an unknown white man wearing a blue coat in the drivers seat. She ran out of the store, grabbing on to the vehicle and getting dragged before falling to the side.
The man drove away with the three-year-old child still in their car seat.
Police located the vehicle on Spring Street, near Ella Grasso Blvd., shortly after with the child still inside and unharmed.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call West Haven Police at 203-937-3900.
