Church burglar faces a judge

West Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) - A man arrested in a West Hartford church break-in and suspected in a number of other burglaries faced a judge Monday.

Police say 46-year-old Jackie Barry may be responsible for more than a dozen church break-ins in the Hartford area since mid-January.

He was arrested last week when a homeowner in Wethersfield says she caught him trying to break into her home.

Police say they found artifacts from the West Hartford church on Barry.

Barry has a long criminal history and is also wanted in Enfield on several unrelated charges.
