LITCHFIELD, Conn. (AP) - A Hollywood cinematographer has been arraigned on charges he sexually assaulted a child in Connecticut.
Adam Kimmel, who served as cinematographer on the 2005 Oscar winning film "Capote," is free on bail after being presented Wednesday in Superior Court on charges of risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault.
Police say the 49-year-old Kimmel, who has a home in Salisbury, was arrested in New York state by Connecticut state troopers as a fugitive from justice. They say the charges stem from a complaint filed in March of inappropriate contact between Kimmel and a child in northwestern Connecticut.
Kimmel, a registered sex offender in New York, also is charged with failing to register in Connecticut.
Kimmel's lawyer, David Moraghan of Torrington, has declined to comment.
