CROMWELL, Conn. (WTNH)-- A Cromwell Dairy Plus clerk was tied up while the store was robbed by an armed man on Friday night.
Police say the suspect entered the store at 72 West Street, around 8:30 PM, and pointed a black handgun at the clerk, making him lay on the ground behind the counter.
The suspect then zip tied the clerk's hands behind his back and moved him to a rear storage room. The suspect had the clerk lay down so he could cover his head with a trash can.
The suspect was in the store for about 15 minutes. He took an undetermined amount of cash, cut the wires to the cctv security system and then took the DVD system with him, police said.
Before leaving, the suspect cut the zip ties holding the clerk's arms. The clerk was able to exit through the rear of the store and run to a nearby business.
The suspect was described as a 6 foot male, weighing 225 lbs., wearing a full black mask, blue tinted sunglasses and speaking with an Indian accent.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Cromwell police at 860-635-2256.
