NEW MILFORD, Conn. (AP) — A jury has acquitted a bank teller charged as an accomplice in a January 2011 robbery.

The News Times reports that the Litchfield Superior Court jury turned in the not-guilty verdict for Serena Viccaro on Thursday. She was a teller at Webster Bank in New Milford at the time of the robbery that netted about $2,000.

Preston Hanlon, who also was charged as an accomplice, told jurors he and Viccaro saw themselves as a modern-day "Bonnie and Clyde," planning the robbery together. The 22-year-old Viccaro insisted from the start she was innocent.

Hanlon is serving a 15-year sentence, suspended after five years, on a conviction of first-degree robbery in the crime.

Viccaro's lawyer, Murray Kessler, said jurors questioned Hanlon's truthfulness.
