STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — A former Subway restaurant worker in Darien has been sentenced to serve a year in prison for filming patrons with a video camera he hid under a bathroom sink.
The Stamford Advocate reported ( http://bit.ly/SzIPVf ) that Marco Dias of Bridgeport was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison, with one to serve, after he pleaded guilty to voyeurism.
The 22-year-old Dias was arrested in August after an armored truck driver who visited the restaurant noticed the camera wrapped around a drain pipe in the unisex bathroom.
Police later found video of Dias setting up the camera, as well as of two men and a woman using the toilet.
Investigators also learned Dias had been in the country illegally. The judge told Dias on Wednesday that if he pleaded guilty, he might be deported.
