BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut state trooper has been arrested on domestic violence charges.
The Connecticut Post reports that Laszlo Urszenyi was arrested Wednesday night in Bridgeport after police said he assaulted his girlfriend. He was charged with third-degree assault and unlawful restraint.
State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance said the 45-year-old Urszenyi has been put on administrative duty. An internal investigation will begin after a criminal prosecution is completed.
State police confiscated Urszenyi's two guns.
Bridgeport police say they responded to Urszenyi's home Wednesday night after receiving a 911 hang-up call. Officers found Urszenyi's 35-year-old girlfriend visibly upset with red marks on her neck.
She said she and Urszenyi argued when she said she wanted to leave the relationship.
It was not known Friday if he is represented by a lawyer.
