NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Federal authorities say a Bridgewater woman has been sentenced to two years in prison for failing to pay taxes on more than $200,000 she embezzled from her employer.

The U.S. Attorney's office said 42-year-old Deborah Wilmot was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in New Haven. Authorities say she failed to pay $69,000 in taxes after she embezzled $221,624 from a software company where she was a bookkeeper.

According to court papers filed by her lawyer, Wilmot has agreed to repay the software company, and had returned $127,000 at the time of her plea to tax evasion.

Her attorney said a psychiatric evaluation found Wilmot suffers from personality disorders.

Wilmot was sentenced to three years in prison in 2004 for stealing about $100,000 from a private school in New Milford.
