HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- After getting arrested for a noise complaint, a Hamden woman kicked, spit, bit, and urinated on the floor at the police headquarters.
Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police responded to 18 Cross St. for a report of loud music. Investigation led to the arrest of the resident, Lonna Leak.
While inside the police cruiser, Leak continually kicked the interior cage, police said. Despite being handcuffed behind her back, she was able to bring her hands to the front of her body. She then gained access to the police radio and began interfering with police communications. When officers intervened, Leak kicked an officer.
Upon arrival at Hamden police headquarters, she spit on a Hamden Fire Department member.
After being placed in a cell, Leak allegedly urinated on the floor, bit the padded walls, and then attempted to flood it, police said.
Leak was then placed in a second cell, at which time she damaged the sprinkle system, causing flooding to the cell block and booking area.
Leak was then moved again, this time to the adult booking area. She also allegedly damaged an electronic control panel, biting off the rubber buttons.
Police said the damages exceed $5,000.
Leak, 37, of 18 Cross St., was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer/safety personnel, interfering with a police officer, first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal mischief, and breach of peace.
Bond was set at $50,000.
Leak is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on December 7th.
