SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) -- South Windsor police arrested a man who was trying to shoplift over $200 worth of chewing gum from a Target store.
Barry Gholson, 54, was arrested at the store located on Buckland Hills Drive after officers say he hid $234 worth of chewing gum in a duffel bag and then tried to leave the store without paying for it.
Police also found a syringe used to inject heroin in Gholson's possession.
Gholson was charged with sixth degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released on a $500 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 13.
