Cops hunt for cell-phone snatcher

Hamden, Conn. (WTNH) - Police in Hamden are looking for a teenaged cell-phone snatcher.

A 21-year-old Hamden resident was texting while riding on a Connecticut Transit bus on January 30 around 8:30 a.m.

She told police that while she was texting, a dark-skinned male grabbed her cell phone and ran off the bus.

The male is described as a 16 to 18 year-old, 5'7" with a thin build. He was wearing a black hoodie and dark-colored jeans.

The victim chased the suspect. She told police she lost sight of him running south on Garden Street in Hamden.
