PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police say a Groton man dumped 2 grams of crack cocaine down his pants after he was pulled over for a traffic stop.

22-year-old Jared Minski was pulled over on East Main Street in the Central Village section of Plainfield on May 22 around 4:30 p.m. Police say Minski's car, which was registered to Plainfield resident Edward Enders, had a broken tail lamp and it was swerving over the solid center line.

Officers determined Minski did not have a valid driver's license.

He admitted to police that he had a "bowl" in the center console, and officers saw a baggie filled with a white substance on the floor on the passenger side. The white substance tested positive as crack cocaine.

Officers then searched Minski and found that he had dumped 2 grams of crack down his pants.

He was arrested and charged with failure to drive in established lane, failure to have lights lit, operating a motor vehicle without a license, illegal possession of narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was held on a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
