Mansfield, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Mansfield man turned himself into police after images and videos of child pornography were found on his computer.
John David Carlton turned himself into police on April 4 on an outstanding warrant after police found 246 images and 68 videos of child porn on his computer.
Police say the investigation into Carlton began back in September 2007 when a photo of child porn was emailed by an account registered to him. In November of that year, police searched Carlton's home and computers.
74 of the images and 11 of the videos contained child victims who had been identified by law enforcement in past investigations.
Carlton was charged with promoting a minor in an obscene performances, first degree possession of child pornography and obscenity.
Carlton posted a bond of $100,000. He is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on April 18.
