SOUTHBURY, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut man has been charged with stealing a debit card from an elderly man who died two weeks later in a Christmas morning fire in Stamford that killed four other people.

37-year-old Raymond Page Jr. of Newtown was charged Wednesday with credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card and larceny. He posted $10,000 bail and is to be arraigned March 8 in Waterbury Superior Court.

Police say Page stole 71-year-old Lomer Johnson's debit card from a Southbury bank counter on Dec. 12 and used it to buy nearly $300 worth of goods.

Johnson, his wife and his three granddaughters died in a fire at his daughter's Stamford home 13 days later.

It's not clear if Page has a lawyer.
