NORWALK, Conn. (Stamford Advocate) -- Police arrested a 22-year-old man Friday afternoon who was wanted for allegedly shooting his sister's boyfriend Thursday night at the Roodner Court public housing complex.

Terry Peterson was arrested by Norwalk police, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's Violent Fugitive Task Force, at the Bridgeport train station around 1 p.m. Police had secured a warrant for Peterson's arrest a few hours after the shooting, police said. After searching Peterson's apartment, police said they learned that he had fled to Bridgeport.

After his arrest Friday, Peterson was taken to Norwalk police headquarters to be processed and was charged with first-degree assault and criminal possession of a firearm. He is being held on $250,000 bond and is set to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on Sept. 9.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. in Building 12 of the 261 Ely Avenue complex, police said. Officers were called there to investigate a report of shots fired and found the 30-year-old victim in the hallway with a gunshot wound.
