East Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) - A woman was in the hospital for two weeks after she was hit by a car, and police are still looking for the driver.

The 31-year-old woman was crossing Silver Lane in East Hartford on Jan. 3 when she was hit by a car.

After the impact, the gray late-model Dodge Challenger turned off its headlights and fled the scene. Police say the car would've sustained damage to the driver's side-view mirror, head lamp trim, and bumper.

The woman was transported to Hartford Hospital with a serious leg injury. She was in the hospital for two weeks.

Police are asking for help in finding the hit and run car and its driver. Officers say that as of Jan. 18, they have no new leads in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Romano at 860-528-4401, or call the East Hartford Police Department's confidential crime tip line at 860-289-9134.
