New Haven (WTNH) - An arrest is made, and two people are sent to the hospital, in separate weekend shootings in New Haven.
On Friday, October 23rd, shortly before 7 p.m., a person was transported to St. Raphael's Hospital for a gunshot to the right shoulder. The victim, Fredrick Wallen, 37, of East Haven stated he was shot in front of Ramsdell Street. He was listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, October 24th, around 11 a.m., a victim walked into Yale New Haven Hospital. The victim, Noel Santos, 26, of New Haven, said he was shot in the area of Howard and Kimberly Avenues.
Santos had a gunshot wound to the right inner thigh. Investigation revealed that the shooting may have been self-inflicted after investigators found the car, he was in, had a bullet hole in the passenger seat where he was sitting.
Santos was arrested for carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm. He also faces a charge for reckless endangerment in the first degree.
