DERBY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Derby man was shot multiple times in a home invasion Saturday night.
Many folks that spoke with News 8 said they're really worried and have started locking their doors after a 52-year-old man was shot in his apartment around 10 p.m. Saturday.
It happened on Elizabeth Street, where the apartment is located above the Little Italy restaurant.
Police say several perpetrators entered the home and shot the man several times. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Neighbors say police blocked off streets and canvassed the area Saturday night.
"It was shocking to me because like I said, I didn't hear anything," said a neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous. "My TV was on and I got a knock at about 11 p.m. and they [asked if I heard] any gunshots or anyone screaming. I didn't hear anything."
As of Sunday evening, police haven't named any suspects and they say they're not releasing the victim's name for his own safety.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Derby Police Department at (203) 735-7811. All calls may remain anonymous and confidential.
