WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) — A driver who knocked out power to more than 150 homes in Woodbury when her car crashed into a utility pole has been charged with driving under the influence.
State police say 42-year-old Kimberly Johnson of Alexandria, Va., was intoxicated when she knocked down the pole Sunday morning.
The Republican-American reports Johnson was taken to Waterbury Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
She was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right. She was released on $500 bond.
A section of Route 6 was closed for several hours as utility crews worked to repair the damage and string new wire.
