Drug dealer dragged cop with car

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Middletown police have arrested an alleged drug dealer who they say dragged a police officer with his car.

Police say 40-year-old Charles Carr was going to sell undercover officers drugs but when he found out they were cops he locked himself in his car and started swallowing bags of cocaine.

The officers broke his car windows to try to stop him but Carr drove off, dragging one of the officers several yards.
      
The officer suffered minor injuries.

Police later caught up with Carr and arrested him.

Carr is charged with reckless driving, disobeying an officer's signal MC, engaging police in a pursuit, sale certain illegal drugs, possession of narcotics, interfering with an officer, assault public safety, attempt to commit a crime, reckless endangerment and destruction of property/evidence.
