MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Middletown man was arrested after police discovered he hid marijuana and crack cocaine in his buttocks. Officers also found drugs and loaded guns in his home.
Police obtained a warrant to search 30-year-old Jeff Spruill's home on Glover Place after receiving complaints from neighbors.
On Tuesday, officers located Spruill and his girlfriend driving in the area of Main Street and Liberty Streets. When officers searched the car, they found 5.39 grams of crack cocaine and 4.9 grams of marijuana in his buttocks.
The officers then headed to the home where they found an unlabeled pill bottle containing Xanax and Dilaudid.
They also found a Hi-Point .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a Hi-Point .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol, and a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolver, all fully loaded. Several boxes of ammunition were found nearby, along with a camouflage body armor vest.
Police say the Smith & Wesson .357 had been reported stolen and they are currently working to determine if the other firearms were also stolen.
Spruill was arrested and held on a $300,00 bond. He faces charges that include three counts of criminal possession of a firearm, theft of firearm, and possession of crack cocaine and narcotics.
Police say Spruill is a convicted felon with past convictions for criminal possession of a firearm, and possession and sale of narcotics.
