WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two men from Brooklyn, New York were arrested after police say they stole over $800 worth of books.
Westport police were called to the Barnes & Noble Book Store located at 1076 Post Road East on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. to investigate a larceny in progress.
Employees told officers two men grabbed $868 worth of books and then ran away.
A short time later, police came across a Jaguar with Georgia license plates and a large amount of books inside.
The two men inside the car, 40-year-old Alfred Green and 37-year-old Raheim Pope, were identified as the suspects and arrested.
Green was charged with fifth degree criminal attempt at larceny and fifth degree conspiracy to commit larceny. He was given a $500 bond.
Pope was charged with fifth degree larceny, fifth degree conspiracy to commit larceny and interfering with an officer. He was given a $5,000 bond.
