BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- An East Haven man has been arrested in connection with last week's robbery of the People's United bank in Branford.
Rudolph Diaz, 30, was arrested Saturday night.
The robbery happened around 2 p.m. last Thursday, when a man and woman robbed the bank, located inside the Branford Stop & Shop on Leetes Island Road.
Diaz was identified as a suspect thanks to help from East Haven police, Detective Lieutenant William Carroll said in a statement.
“This investigation moved swiftly through the investigative process with the assistance of the East Haven Police Department, whose officers worked closely with our investigators to determine the identity of Diaz,” Carroll said.
Diaz is charged with robbery, larceny, and was held on a $300,000 bond.
Police say they identified the woman they say was with Diaz, and say her arrest is imminent.
