NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A female suspect pushed an elderly woman out of her minivan and fled the scene with the vehicle, police said.
Police responded to the area of 100 Grand Street around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, where the car-jacking was reported.
A female suspect reportedly approached the victim and asked for a ride. The suspect then pushed the elderly woman out of the minivan and drove away.
The suspect is described as a white female with long, dark hair and she is believed to be in her 40's.
The elderly woman sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. Several witnesses came to the aid of the victim after the car-jacking took place.
The unoccupied vehicle was recovered around 10 a.m. Sunday.
Apparently the suspect was asking for a ride because she had claimed to have been pushed into a pond by her husband following an altercation.
