GUILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- An employee at the Sunshine Daydream special store chased away a would-be robber with a baseball bat after an attempted hold up.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, a man wearing light colored pants, a white T-shirt and an orange face mask walked into the Sunshine Daydream special store at 2941 Boston Post Road in Guilford.
The suspect was about 5'10" and had a tattoo on his upper right arm.
The suspect tried to open the cash register, but when he couldn't, he demanded the store's employee to open it and give him the cash inside.
At one point, the suspect put his hand in his pocket to indicate that he had a weapon. However, the employee grabbed a baseball bat and chased him from the store to a waiting getaway car.
The car is described as a older reddish/brown Cadillac type car. The tail lights are a slit type rear lights and there is a dent on the back.
The car headed west bound on Boston Post Road toward Branford.
No one was harmed and no money was taken. Police are still searching for the suspect and the getaway car.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Guilford Police at 203-453-8060.
