NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police arrested an escapee Friday night and found him to be in possession of a stolen gun.

Around 8:30 p.m., officers on the beat on Valley Street, spotted a BMW with darkly tinted windows. While officers could not see who was inside, they suspected it was escapee, Tyzchell Tisdale, 25, of New Haven.

Officers had a drug-related warrant for Tisdale and has been looking for him.

They proceeded to pull the BMW over and ordered those inside to lower the windows.

Police said three people were inside the vehicle, and the man in the back seat was fidgety.

All three were asked to get out of the car. While officers suspected the back seat passenger to be Tisdale, he told them his name was "Larry Moore."

After searching the car, police found a gun on the floor beneath the suspect's feet.

The suspect then told police, "I'm really Tyzchell Tisdale. I don't want to get the girls in any trouble."

Tisdale went on to tell police the gun was his, adding, "let's get this over with. Where is the paddy wagon?"

Police said the gun was recently stolen from Bennettsville, South Carolina.

Tisdale was arrested and charged with four gun-related crimes, including possession of a stolen firearm.
