Easton, Conn. (WTNH) - An Easton farm owner was arrested on animal cruelty charges Thursday.

Appolino Vittorio, 76, the owner of Pee Wee Farm, was arrested on six counts of animal cruelty.

The charges stem from a December 15th seizure of five horses from the farm.

The Dept. of Agriculture said that the five horses seized were in need of immediate medical attention. Five of the animal cruelty counts come from the horses seized, while the additional count is for not providing adequate shelter.

Officials say there are a total of 115 horses on the Pee Wee Farm. The horses that were seized are now living at a farm in Niantic, run by the Dept. of Agriculture.

Vittorio is scheduled to be in court on February 7th.
