NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A spokesman says federal agents have conducted searches of a dozen businesses and residences in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania as part of an ongoing investigation.

Jim McNally, spokesman for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Boston, said the raids are taking place Tuesday. He said there were no arrests, but could not comment on whether any evidence was seized or on the nature of the investigation beyond saying it was an enforcement operation led by ATF.

McNally said the searches took place in Hamden, Danbury, Berlin, Middletown and Seymour in Connecticut, Scranton, Pa.; and Springfield and Attleboro, Mass. He said agents with the Department of Homeland Security were involved in the searches.
