EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A convicted felon was arrested following an attempted burglary in East Haven Tuesday.

The incident happened shortly after 2 p.m., at 59 Taylor Avenue.

A neighbor who called 911 reporting the burglary said that a man was trying to gain entry to the home through a window.

Upon arrival, the complainant was attempting to stop the suspect, later identified as 23-year-old Arsen Lazri.

Lazri resisted arrest, but was eventually taken to police headquarters following a struggle.

He was found to be in possession of burglars tools, latex gloves, and a small knife.

Lazri is charged third-degree criminal attempt at burglary, possession of burglar's tools, resisting/interfering with police, and criminal trespass.

Police said Lazri is a convicted felon with five previous burglary arrests.

He is currently being held on $20,000 bond, as well as a remand to custody order, issued by parole for a previous burglary charge.
