NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A convicted felon was arrested after he entered a bar with a loaded magnum revolver early Saturday morning, police say.
Police responded to the report of a suspect bearing a gun at The Exchange Bar at 74 Bank Street shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday.
The suspect, Robery McIntear Jr., 24, was observed with a loaded .357 magnum revolver. Police attempted to escort McIntear out of the establishment, but a struggled ensued.
Police were eventually able to take McIntear, a previously convicted felon, into custody. He was also found to be carrying several bags of marijuana, packaged for sale.
McIntear was arrested on charges of carrying a firearm, carrying a firearm while under the influence, carrying a revolver without a permit, possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell near a school, interfering with police and breach of peace.
He is being held on a $150,000 bond.
