EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) -- A former volunteer firefighter accused of setting fire to an East Windsor home back in 1986, killing a couple inside pleaded guilty Thursday in the case.
Fifty-year-old Peter Waraksa was sentenced to eight years in prison in the deaths of Orie and Assunta Weeks.
Waraska pleaded guilty to two counts of negligent homicide, one count of third-degree arson, and one count of second-degree burglary.
Waraksa was a member of the Warehouse Point Fire Department at the time of the fire.
At the time of his arrest in 2010, Waraska was serving a sentence for an unrelated crime.
