Fugitive for attempted murder arrested

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police have arrested a 23-year-old fugitive wanted for attempted murder.

On Thursday, police arrested Reginald Dixon of 320 Central Ave. on warrant for a shooting that occured on July 2, 2011 on Central Ave.

The shooting incident left a 19-year-old male paralyzed from the waist down.

Dixon was arrested in Concord, North Carolina for unrelated charges and was held as a fugitive after they discovered he was wanted by the Norwich Police Department.

Dixon waived extradition and was brought back to Connecticut.

He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 8 in Norwich Superior Court.

Dixon was charged with criminal attempt at murder and first-degree assault.
