Fugitive wanted for murder arrested

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police have arrested a fugitive wanted for murder.

On Dec. 10 around 10:30 a.m. police arrested David J. Grant, 33, or Brooklyn, NY was arrested on warrant for the murder of a woman and injury of a second during a shooting incident in June at the Mai Thai Restaurant on Laurel Hill Ave.

Grant was charged with murder, first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a pistol or revolver.

Grant was arrested by Baltimore, Maryland Police for an unrelated incident earlier in the week and was held as a fugitive after they discovered he was wanted by the Norwich Police.

Grant waived extradition and was brought back to Connecticut.

Grant was also arrested on two separate warrants for violation of probation.

He is being held on a bond of $2,100,000 and is scheduled to be arraigned in Norwich Superior Court on Dec. 11.
