Grandma busted for selling pot

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Middletown woman was arrested for selling marijuana from her home while her grandchildren were present.

After receiving complaints from neighbors, police executed a search and seizure warrant at the home of 54-year-old Jenny Lopez, located at 233 East Main St.

Police first located Lopez and her four-year-old granddaughter at a CVS just down the street. Then upon approaching the residence, found Lopez's husband, 47-year-old Noel Rosa, and her son, 21-year-old Jonathan Rosa, in the driveway.

When officers entered the home they found Lopez's two-month-old grandson and two other females.

Inside the home, police discovered approximately 3.86 ounces of marijuana along with a scale and packaging materials hidden in a tin under the kitchen sink. Police said the marijuana was easily accessible to the four-year-old.

Police said the marijuana seized had an approximate street value of $1,500.

Police also found a substantial amount of cash in Lopez's bedroom.

DCF responded to the residence and is investigating.

Jenny Lopez was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. She was released on a $25,000 bond.

Jonathan and Noel Rosa were both charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and released on a $5,000 bond.
