NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Hamden man was arrested in New Haven after he was spotted cycling around town with a gun tucked into his waistband.
Police were called at 6 p.m. on May 21 after someone spotted a man with a gun in his waistband riding a yellow bicycle down Shelton Avenue in New Haven.
Officers were able to spot the man, later identified as 21-year-old Tylon Gardner, a convicted felon and current parolee.
Gardner was arrested when he tried to escape custody. Police found a Taurus "Millennium Pro" .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun when they searched him.
Gardner was charged with criminal possession of a pistol and carrying a pistol without a permit. His parole officer was notified of his arrest.
