Hartford man accused of killing potential witness

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Hartford man has been indicted on federal charges that he killed a man to keep him from sharing information with authorities about drug trafficking.

The grand jury indictment of 22-year-old Keronn Miller alleges he and others killed Ian Francis to keep him from attending a federal proceeding.

Francis was shot multiple times while sitting in his vehicle in Hartford on Dec. 21, 2010.

Miller, who is also known as "Fresh," has been in custody since his arrest on a federal warrant in November. He is charged with witness tampering murder and conspiracy to commit witness tampering murder and faces a mandatory life prison term or possible death penalty if convicted.

The indictment by the grand jury in Hartford was announced by federal prosecutors, the FBI and Hartford police.
