Hartford man pistol whipped in carjacking

Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) - Hartford police said a city man was pistol whipped during an early morning car jacking on Barber Street. 

Police say the victim was in the area to pick up an assistant when he was approached by two black males.  One of the males, who was carrying a small pistol, proceeded to assault the victim, and stole his wallet along with his car.  When police arrived on the scene, they found the man with lacerations on his face.  He was transported to St. Francis Hospital for evaluation.

Police say the suspects got away in a red 2010 Ford Escape with a CT license plate labeled 266-YLN.  Anyone with information is asked to call Hartford Police.
