HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)-- The man who robbed a Hartford Subway at knife point on Saturday afternoon, has been caught by police.
Police say that John E. Thomas, 48, entered the Subway at 493 Main Street around 4:37 PM, and ordered a sandwich, before asking to use the bathroom behind the counter. He then came out and waved a knife, while he told the clerk to open the register.
Thomas fled on foot after snatching the money from the clerk. The victim told police the direction in which Thomas ran and police found him by Whitehead Memorial Highway, near Bushnell Park.
The victim identified Thomas as the suspect and the incident is still under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
