NEW MILFORD, Conn. (AP) — New Milford police have arrested a 67-year-old man accused of trying to suffocate his wife with a pillow.
The Republican American reports that police responded to a 911 call for a disturbance at the home of Herbert St. Jean on Saturday morning. Police say officers heard screaming from inside.
St. Jean was arrested without incident.
His wife, whose name has not been released, was treated for minor injuries.
St. Jean was held on $1 million bond on Sunday night.
He was scheduled to be arraigned at Bantam Superior Court on Monday on charges of attempt to commit murder, unlawful restraint and interference with emergency calls.
