WATERTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- The Watertown couple accused of killing a mother and her son made their first appearance in court Wednesday morning.

Twenty-six-year-old Elizabeth Swiderski walked into court wearing a "Locked Up?" t-shirt and her wrists in handcuffs. She's being held on a $675,000 bond.

Her husband, 36-year-old Claude Turner, came out next. He's charged with capitol felony murder and is being held on a $2.5 million bond.

The pair once lived in the Watertown home of Donna Bouffard. She and her son, Michael Perkins, were found dead inside. Police say the Turners sold the family's car and then fled to Baltimore where they were arrested.

Both are due back in court later this month.
