In the mail, 7lbs of pot

Willimantic, Conn. (WTNH) - Just two days after his 26th birthday, a Willimantic man was busted after getting several pounds of marijuana in the mail, police said.

Officers arrested Luke Gildea Thursday.

According to police, they got a report that a man had received a package at the Willimantic Post Office that may have contained marijuana. Police were watching outside, and when they spotted their suspect they grabbed him.

Inside the package police found about seven pounds of pot, including packaging.

Gildea was held on $50,000 bond. Police say more arrests are expected.
